أفادت مصادر إعلامية جزائرية بأن المناضلة جميلة بوحيرد (85 عاما) أصيبت بفيروس كورونا، حيث نقلت إلى مستشفى مصطفى باشا في العاصمة الجزائرية.

وقال مقربون من بوحيرد إن حالتها مستقرة ولا تدعو للقلق، مشيرين إلى أنه يُنتظر أن تغادر خلال ساعات بعد تحسن وضعيتها الصحية.

وكانت بوحيرد قد انضمت الى جبهة التحرير الجزائرية للنضال ضد الاستعمار الفرنسي، وتمثل دورها في كونها حلقة الوصل بين قائد الجبل في جبهة التحرير الجزائرية ومندوب القيادة في المدينة (ياسيف السعدي) الذي كانت المنشورات الفرنسية في المدينة تعلن عن دفع مبلغ مئة ألف فرنك فرنسي ثمنا لرأسه.

وأصبحت بوحيرد الأولى على قائمة المطاردين حتى أصيبت برصاصة عام 1957 وألقي القبض عليها عندما سقطت على الأرض تنزف دماً بعد إصابتها برصاصة في الكتف.

وبدأ الفرنسيون بتعذيب جميلة بوحيرد داخل المستشفى، حيث تعرضت للصعق الكهربائي لمدة ثلاثة أيام من طرف المستعمر كي تعترف على زملائها، لكنها تحملت التعذيب.

وتولت جميلة بعد الاستقلال رئاسة اتحاد المرأة الجزائري، قبل أن تستقيل لاحقا وتترك الساحة السياسية برمتها.
